WINE REVIEW

Established in 2008, Hampshire’s Hattingley Valley released this Classic Cuvée 2010 as their first vintage. It is a classic blend of 90% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier.

The first thing I noticed about this wine was how its vibrant aura filled the air; really vivid aromas of apple, pear and pastry.

A beautifully layered palate then awaits; crisp lemony citrus to start with leading into clean orchard fruit mix of apple, pear with some mineral notes. The mid taste is creamy with hints of honeyed stone fruit and a really rich nutty complexity of bitter almond to finish.

The structure on this wine is superb, and it remains dry throughout with quite a lengthy aftertaste again emphasizing the apple flavours with some lovely yeasty notes.
