Hattingley Valley Classic Cuvée 2010

Established in 2008, Hampshire’s Hattingley Valley released this Classic Cuvée 2010 as their first vintage. It is a classic blend of 90% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier.

The first thing I noticed about this wine was how its vibrant aura filled the air; really vivid aromas of apple, pear and pastry.

A beautifully layered palate then awaits; crisp lemony citrus to start with leading into clean orchard fruit mix of apple, pear with some mineral notes. The mid-taste is creamy with hints of honeyed stone fruit and a really rich nutty complexity of bitter almond to finish.

The structure of this wine is superb, and it remains dry throughout with quite a lengthy aftertaste again emphasizing the apple flavours with some lovely yeasty notes.
