WINE REVIEW

It has been about a year since I first tried this wine, and it really seems that it’s starting to develop into something rather special.

On the nose; clean fresh apple, citrus with a hints of sweet white peach and quite a distinct mineral edge.

A rich dry acidity – mouth-watering but absolutely moreish. Crisp green apple flavours, lemon zest before stone fruit and lovely smooth malo-induced buttery flavours and textures. A most pleasant dry finish – with hints of that citrus tang.

Chapel Down have really delivered something superb here – clean and fresh but with a developing creamy texture. One of the best English Chardonnay’s I’ve had the pleasure to try at this price point.
