WINE REVIEW

Denbies continued investment into growing Sauvignon Blanc in England appears to be paying off. The 2014 vintage sees the Sauvignon content increased from 40% to 55%, with the remainder of the blend being Bacchus.

Two highly aromatic grapes combine here to provide an elegant but subtle bouquet of grapefruit and lime zest with strong green grassy notes. Herbaceous and floral with perhaps some hints of minerality.

The palate is dry and lightly textured from the merest kiss of oak (the Sauvignon spent two weeks in French oak). Acidity is mild but prominent, countering the more tropical fruit hue that the Bacchus imparts.

Floral finish with lemon zest & grapefruit tang, this is a very refreshing and delicately nuanced blend.
