WINE REVIEW

One year on from my first encounter with Harrow & Hope and it’s great to have a chance to sample their Blanc de Blancs. The wine was made from grapes from a plot of the lowest yielding Chardonnay vines and half of the wine was fermented in used oak barrels.

The bubbles are tiny and carry fresh crisp aromas of green apple & citrus fruit into the air with light bready notes.

The wine has an excellent sense of poise on the palate, and perhaps more lively and vibrant than some Blanc de Blancs I’ve tried. The striking acidity and lemon tingles the taste buds, preparing you for smoother flavours baked apple creamy weight.

This Blanc de Blancs remains remarkably punchy throughout, the effect of the oak only adding texture and roundness rather than vanilla and spice flavours. As such, this is superbly textured and should age particularly well.
