WINE REVIEW

The latest vintage of Nyetimber’s prestigious Blanc de Blancs, released just a few weeks ago, has already gained a huge amount of praise from critics and industry peers alike.

On the nose, there’s a crisp fresh citrus zest air with delightful mineral qualities. Then it’s all about the bready pastry notes; think sweet brioche and freshly baked sourdough bread, with a subtle hint of sweet spice in the background.

On the palate, the Blanc de Blancs is rounded and balanced. An orchard full of apples, a twist of lemon and lime peel with fuller stone fruit flavours. The mousse is refined and smooth, but persistent and contributing to a luxurious mouthfeel.

This wine’s biggest delight is its lengthy and layered aftertaste. Initially mineral and yeasty before lasting notes of citrus oil and delicate spice add a superb complexity.

Before you know it, the bottle is empty, and you’ll wish you had at least another bottle on ice – this wine is seriously divine!
