WINE REVIEW

My first wine from Titchfield Vineyard in Hampshire is this delightful light Pinot Noir. The wine is matured in oak casks.

The nose was quite open, starting with strong berry aromas of cherry and raspberry. There’s quite a significant oaky aroma with toasted spice notes of black pepper and cinnamon.

The wine has quite a nice bite up front with good acidity before a surprisingly smooth wave of cherry and strawberry flavours. There’s gentle chewy tannin, which helps to give the wine a subtle body.

What surprised me most about this Pinot was its length; those cherry flavours really linger with quite a defined profile of toasted spice and pepper.
