WINE REVIEW
The Siegerrebe grape is one I come across less frequently than I did in the early days of GBW. It’s a cross of aromatic grapes Madeleine Angevine and Gewürztraminer, and winemaker Jeremy Mount has blended it with Ortega for this fragrant limited release.
On the nose I found Tenterhook was full of ripe apple and nectarine aromas with a pronounced floral rose petals note.
The palate is clean and fresh, with green orchard fruit and citrus bursts. There’s a lovely acid line running through the wine and subtle floral and stone fruit hints. Overall, this is a delicate expression with just enough about it to hold your interest.
