WINE REVIEW

100% Bacchus from four sites: Flint Vineyard, Salary Brook Vineyard (Suffolk), Rowles Farm Vineyard (Suffolk) and Martin’s Lane Vineyard. Fermented in a mixture of small barriques, large oak foudres and un-lined concrete tanks with different yeast strains. 20% malolactic fermentation. No chaptilisation or sugar addition.

Something of a return to a cleaner, greener style of Bacchus for Flint, but don’t worry, another Bacchus Fumé isn’t too far away! In the meantime, this is classic Bacchus, but with that signature stamp of Flint creativity.

The nose is vibrant and grassy, with lots of classic Bacchus floral cues, but also the exuberance of passion fruit, melon and lime.

On the palate there’s a classic combination of pear, lime and elderflower, but with a rounded tropical lift of passion fruit and yellow melon. This is another brilliantly drinkable wine from Flint, but with that lift of salinity and smoky flintiness.
