WINE REVIEW
This is a very exciting limited release still wine from boutique English Sparkling Wine producer Hoffmann & Rathbone.
With just 1,000 bottles produced, the 2015 Bacchus is handpicked from a single vineyard, 50% barrel fermented and spending 5 months on the lees.
The end result is a stunningly rich and nuanced wine, with potent aromas of white peach, tropical fruit and lime with superb minerality and a slight hint of white pepper.
Brilliantly sharp cutting lime acidity starts things off, however the mid taste is a wonderfully rounded fresh tropical fruit sensation of grapefruit, peach and gooseberry. A slightly silky texture thanks to the prolonged lees contact, before a striking finish of mineral and citrus zest.
A punchy, vibrant and beautifully textured wine – must try!
