Hattingley Valley has continued to push the envelope this year with a series of innovative wines, this delightful Sparkling Red Pinot is perhaps their most distinctive wine yet.
Made from 83% Pinot and 17% Pinot Precoce was partially (80%) fermented in used oak barrels for six months, before ageing in bottle for 13 months.
The resulting wine has a vibrant ruby red colour with lively bubbles lifting spiced red berry aromas.
A taste sensation; citrus zest and tangy cranberry notes, before a smooth cherry, strawberries and cream mid taste sets in.
A wonderful toasted peppery spice character forms on the dry and lengthy finish, with a hint of tannin giving the wine great presence. Christmas in a glass, an ideal festive aperitif!
