WINE REVIEW
Hattingley’s new Classic Reserve builds on their classic blend of Chardonnay (50%), Pinot Noir (30%), Pinot Meunier (19%) and Pinot Gris (1%), but incorporates 18% reserve wines from several vintages.
The nose has that strikingly clean and pure profile we have come to expect from Hampshire-made sparkling wine, in particularly those from Hattingley. Bags of green orchard fruit, hints of melon and a seasoning of light pastry and mineral tones.
The palate is similarly elegant, with a soft creamy texture and those pure green apple characters shining through.
A lovely evolution of citrus tang forms on the mid taste, which leads to a fuller finish with almond croissant and hints of spice.
Harmonious!
This one of the best I’ve had from Hattingley for some time, and a really good step forwards for their ‘Classic’ label.
